FAQ
-
What is mastering, and why do I need it?
Mastering is the final step in the music-making process. It enhances your mix's clarity, balances the overall tone, and makes sure your song sounds great everywhere—whether it’s streaming, on vinyl, or in a car.
-
What do I need to send you to get started?
Send me your final stereo mix as a WAV file—either 24-bit or 32-bit float—at the same sample rate you recorded and mixed at (no need to convert). Make sure there’s no limiting or clipping on the master bus. If you’ve been referencing a loud version or have a rough master you’ve been living with, feel free to include that too—it helps me understand your vision.
-
How long does mastering take?
Turnaround time is typically 2–5 days from file delivery. If you're on a tight deadline, just let me know—I’ll do my best to accommodate.
-
Do you offer revisions?
Absolutely! I offer unlimited revisions within reason to make sure you’re completely satisfied with your master. If extensive changes go beyond the usual scope, we can discuss any additional costs then.
-
How much do you charge?
For a custom quote, please contact me via the form on my “Get A Quote” page. I’m happy to work with you and your budget.
-
Can I attend the mastering session?
Currently, all sessions are remote. I’ll keep you updated throughout the process and send detailed notes along with your master so you’re always in the loop.
